On the other hand, professors and teachers do a lot more dumping, in my opinion. There are reasons for that. One is the culture of education. The other is the time value — they want to get across as much as possible in a 50-minute class. There’s a lot of talk these days about the “flipped” classroom. In this model, the students read from a textbook or other materials for homework. Then, when they come to class, the time is spent in exercises and discussion. The idea is to get rid of the presentation/lecture almost completely.
